Nobody likes doing chores- there’s sometimes just not enough hours in a day to get everything done. With everyone in “Spring Cleaning” mode now, let’s take a look at some ways you can optimize your Spring Cleanup. These five tips should hopefully make it less daunting, and possibly more fun.
1. Rainy Days Don’t Need To Be Grey
It’s very easy to feel frustrated or gloomy when a rainy day puts a downer on your plans. But the rain doesn’t need to ruin everything. It can actually be a blessing in disguise when it comes to catching up on your Spring Cleaning! Not only will the rain help out with one of your outdoor chores – watering your outdoor plants, it’ll also provide you with plenty of time to go through your indoor chores in the case of your plans getting cancelled due to weather.
2. Kitchen Clean Up
The kitchen is probably the most used room in the house- many people haven’t organized their kitchens in years! A quick and easy thing you can do that easily spruce up your kitchen is simply organizing a neat display of your condiments, spices, oils and salts. However, if you don’t have the space to make a nice display for them, organizing your cabinets to make space works as well. Use this time to spice up your kitchen setup!
3. Green Thumbs
The weather is finally getting warmer around this time of year…. usually! Get outside and do some gardening- maybe get some potted plants for the front of your home? Finally get started on that vegetable garden perhaps. If you don’t have an outdoor space, then bring some green into the home. The right greenery can liven up your home after a long winter!
4. Organize, Alphabetize
Have a ton of books, DVD’s, or other media? Nothing is more satisfying then coming up with a sorting system for these items. Whether you choose to sort them alphabetically, chronologically or by genre, this is a project that should keep you busy and provide you with lots of zen when complete.
5. Declutter Your E-Mail
One thing that many people are finding with e-mail addresses they’ve been using for a number of years is their space is running out! Spend some time going through your e-mails from a few years ago and make the decision if the e-mail needs to be held onto or not. More often then not a bunch of junk mail is backlogged in your archives- so get rid of it and make more space for more important things!
